We will follow and implement the mandatory restrictions the Manitoba Government may put in place. We are committed to provide a quality education, in person as often as possible, or online as the government dictates.

Calendar Year from September - June

Enrolment form, registration fee, and payment are due on or before your first lesson. There will be a total of 30 lessons. This includes two performances.

*Depending on availability, Music Academy Manitoba will accept students throughout the year and adjust lessons / contracts accordingly.

Missed/Rescheduled Classes and Lessons

Holiday Mondays are a special time for families. Music Academy Manitoba would like to reschedule lessons that fall on a holiday Monday.

Occasionally instructors travel for performances and conferences, which will enhance what we do. Music Academy Manitoba will give as much notice as possible and reschedule lessons promptly.

There are a variety of reasons that lessons are missed or cancelled. At Music Academy Manitoba we understand that life is busy and following a set schedule is - at times- impossible due to illness, and other conflicts such as school obligations or rides. Unfortunately unforeseen circumstances can have a rippling effect on the smooth functioning of the academy. Here are some solutions:

  • If a student cancels a lesson with reasonable notice (at least 24 hours) by request, the academy will do its best to find another time within a two week period to reschedule. At the discretion of the instructor a missed lesson won't be made up.

  • Missed and cancelled lessons are not subject to refund.

  • It is the responsibility of the parent and / or student to initiate re-scheduling.

  • We understand that sometimes there are emergencies. We will deal with emergencies on a case by case basis.

  • In an effort to give each individual our best, no-shows will not be re-scheduled and late arrivals will not be extended. Sometimes this is out of our control with unforeseen events. If you think you will be delayed, we would appreciate a call or text to let us know that you are on the way.


Three will be two recitals during the year. These recitals count as a lesson taught. I strongly encourage students to participate, as performance is an essential part of music study.


Students are expected to arrive promptly at the start of the lesson, and be picked up on time. Note: All parents / guardians are welcome to observe lessons only when invited by the student and teacher.


Please make cheques available to info@musicacademymanitoba.ca. An invoice will be sent via email before the first lesson. Cheques and e-transfers are currently accepted monthly, sessionally or annually.

Cancellation Policy

Lessons are a September to June commitment. If the termination of lesson is being considered, a parent-students-teacher is required. One month's written notice and one month's fee is required for termination of lessons. Note: No refund will be given for Group Classes.


Materials (such as lesson books, music, theory books, etc.) that are purchased by the teacher are expected to be paid for in full at the following lesson. Students are expected to bring the required materials to their lesson.

Practice Time

Students need non-interrupted time to practice throughout the week. The amount of practice time per day will vary depending on the student's level and will be determined by the teacher. Setting a similar time to practice each day (e.g. right after school or before dinner) will help set a routine and ensure success.


By agreeing to this policy you give permission for Music Academy Manitoba to use photographs and videos of the student on the website and social media. No last names or identifying information of the student will be shared.
